5 Sensational Places To Visit In 2017

With the end of the year nearly upon us it’s time to look at the sensational places I’m planning to visit next year.

Some of the trips will be work based (with a little time for fun and games). Other trips will be vacations and reconnaissance missions to places I am considering for long term visits post retirement.

1) Thailand

Crowne Plaza, Lumpini Park, Bangkok.

A working trip for just under two weeks. Most of the trip will be spent in Bangkok and the surrounding areas. I’ll be staying at the Crowne Plaza Lumpini Park.

I hope to head down to Pattaya to watch some Thai boxing on the Sunday night.

2) Las Vegas

New York, New York. Las Vegas

The fifth sixth and last time I’ll be heading to Vegas for the foreseeable future. The main reason we are going back is to head over to the Grand Canyon and Hoover dam.

3) Scotland

Wild Scotland

Mrs FrugalFox has never been to Scotland and every time I visit (12 times a year) she has a little moan. We will probably visit somewhere up in the highlands for some walking and climbing.

4) Malta

Streets of Malta

The England international football (soccer if you must) team are playing in Malta in September. Seems like a good way to spend a week in a villa somewhere sunny and catch some international sport.

Sharing a villa with others is always a great way to get nice accommodation at a good price.

5)Costa Rica

Costa Rica, Mountains and coastline.

A research trip as much as a holiday. This is one of the places I’m considering to spend some time once I hit retirement in a few years.

Other Trips

Outside of these places I’ll probably be revisiting Brazil, China, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Spain.

Where are you planning on visiting in 2017? Let me know in the comments below.

I am dying to go to Malta!! I have a hiking buddy who was born there and still lives there and he posts the most amazing photos on FB. Please please do a post on Malta when you return. I need specific restaurants and activities! 😉

And we (SWA) just started flying to Costa Rica. I haven’t been yet but will definitely get there in the foreseeable future. I can’t wait!!

      Miss Mazuma,
I will ensure I detail all of the specifics just for you.

I didn’t realise you fly for SWA. I was going to add a visit to Chicago either before April or after November to see the Bulls play. Haven’t been able to get to Chicago for 3 years.

If you get to Costa Rica before me let me know how it goes. I plan on doing as much “adventuring” as possible.

  2. Scotland looks amazing. I have heard such amazing things but have never visited before. I have been on two out of the five locations on your list. Costa Rica has definitely been my favorite of the destinations that you are listing. I could go back there over and over again.

    Thanks for sharing your list

Scotland is a beautiful country it’s just wet and cold a lot of the year!
You said you’ve been to two of the countries, Costa Rica and whats the other one?
