Another long week of hotels stays this week, it feels like I wasn’t on holiday just two short weeks ago.

Bolton, England 09/10/16 – Holiday Inn
Checking in on a Sunday night was a bit of a change for me; the whole experience was fairly good. There was a small gym in the basement with a swimming pool and sauna also available. The bedroom was quite dated although I did sleep well. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of cooked and non-cooked items.
Chester, England 10/10/16 – Holiday Inn Express
Check-in was poor; they did not ask if I wanted a drink or the points so I had to pop down later to get a points voucher. I had an adjoining room which meant there was a lot of noise both nights and I managed very little sleep. Breakfast was fairly standard although the sausages were excellent, coffee on the contrary was awful. The hotel is very close to the town centre which was great for some early evening exploring
Shrewsbury, England 12/10/16 – The Shrewsbury Hotel (JD Wetherspoon)
I was informed by the receptionist that this was the first ever JD Wetherspoon hotel, in the bedrooms it does show slightly with limited plug sockets including no bedside sockets, in this day and age these are an absolute must. Good size car park out the front and the pub below is open from 7am till midnight. It was my first ever visit to Shrewsbury, the town is nice but the road system in the town is poor.
